Westerville City Hall Complex Improvements
Located in the historic Fort Hayes campus, The Childhood League Center reclaimed an iconic Columbus site and sensitively re-purposed its historic structures to better serve the community. The project reused a historic barn structure and respectfully integrated it into The Center’s programmatic needs. The barn’s wooden trusses, original wood floors, and exposed brick walls were reclaimed and restored to provide an interesting office/administrative space for The Center’s staff. This building provides active learning, private areas for comfort and self-regulation for children with sensory sensitivities, an art studio as well as a dedicated art courtyard, gym, several private and group therapy rooms, commercial kitchen, dining area, reception space, wellness suite, pantry area, numerous outdoor courtyards, and nearly an acre of outdoor adaptive playscape specially designed for children of the age and ability served by The Center.
