Approach
After Core Specialty reached out to MA Design to help expand their office, our team conducted several feasibility studies and test fits on different floors to determine the best expansion strategy. With the 12th floor having been recently renovated, Core chose to renovate the entire 10th floor to meet their growing needs. MA Design collaborated with 39Forward and Terrex under strict time and budget constraints to quickly develop test fits, demolition and construction documents, and finish palettes that tied back into the 12th-floor design. Working within a tight schedule and budget, MA ensured the new space aligned with Core’s office standards and maximized functionality.
The 10th floor includes a game room and kitchenette to complement the main cafe on the 12th floor. MA also explored test fits for a future mailroom in one of the new conference rooms. The game room became a focal point for design innovation, blending playful finishes with corporate elements. To manage acoustics and define activity zones, MA incorporated LVT flooring and carpet accents with thoughtful design transitions.
