A home away from home.

Approach

Our design intent with the renovation of these two suites was to create environments that felt like upscale, downtown homes. Both high-end suites feature luxury finishes, an open floor plan, a classic yet modern design aesthetic and striking views of downtown Columbus from the Hyatt’s 20th floor.

The previous suites had not been updated in over 30 years and as such, their décor and overall design had become dated and out of line with competitors. Existing locations of the kitchen, dining room, seating area, lounge, and office were closed off from one another so we created an open floor plan that utilized furniture as boundaries rather than walls. Due to the suites’ HVAC and structural limitations our team designed cove lighting with LED channel lights which brought light and an ethereal quality to the once light-less, heavy ceiling. An additional focal point for the rooms are the bathrooms which feature natural stone, a more efficient layout configuration, and an updated double sink vanity all behind a timeless frosted glass barn door.

MA’s design team took great care in designing and selecting every detail of the suites from the finishes down to a custom rug. Local art was sourced for much of the décor which gives the suites an authentic, vibrant, and youthful Columbus quality.
