Creating the design narrative that defines architectural guidelines.

Approach

Hot Chicken Takeover, a local and legendary fast-food chicken restaurant, has a culture for change, making impactful decisions that become thoughtfully incorporated into their restaurant designs.

Starting their story serving food in a parking lot in Columbus, Ohio, Hot Chicken Takeover has expanded its mission across six restaurant locations around Ohio. Working directly with Hot Chicken Takeover (HCT), our roll-out team has helped develop a design narrative that defines the architectural guidelines for new restaurants. Taking the newly developed narrative, it will serve as a guide for implementing a brand standard for HCT’s newest locations.

As restaurants had to pivot to incorporate COVID-19 precautions and safety guidelines, HTC sought out MA’s help to reconfigure not only the interior floor plan of the restaurant including the kitchen and dining room layout but also the exterior necessities like drive-throughs and patios.

Our designers strategically curated and sourced materials that were not only appropriate to the brand but were also easily obtained during supply shortages. A successful design allowed for the crowd favorite fast-food chain to remain open during a global pandemic.
