Eight-story historic office building into 190 beautiful apartments.

Approach

Part of a planned mixed-use development that will redevelop the campus of the old Baldwin Piano Company manufacturing and office headquarters, MA Design worked with developers, CASTO and Neyer Properties on the renovation of the existing main building into 190 apartments with amenities. Built in the early 1920s, the 250,000 sf, eight-story building, first home to 2,000 employees who built pianos within its walls, sat vacant for quite a few years before being used as an office building by others during the 1980s and 90s. In 2015, the Italian Renaissance Revival icon was designated as a historic landmark.

MA Design was contracted to do interior design and furniture selection for several areas of the converted residential building including the clubhouse, lobby, and corridors as well as the amenity deck. We also created the material finish packages for all of the units. Unit mix consists of two bedroom, one bedroom and studio units, many with wonderful views of Eden Park or the downtown Cincinnati skyline.
