Empowering success through thoughtful, student- centered design.

Approach

Franklin Hall is undergoing a comprehensive transformation that will convert the three-story building into a dedicated instructional center for Columbus State Community College. As one of the college’s largest classroom modernization projects to date, the renovation addresses decades of deferred maintenance while creating flexible, technology-enabled learning environments that support the evolving needs of students and faculty.

MA Design partnered with Erdy McHenry Architecture to transform Franklin Hall into a modern academic facility designed around flexible teaching and learning. The renovation reconfigures the former classroom and administrative building into a dedicated instructional hub featuring active, collaborative, and traditional classrooms, as well as a new environmental science lab that supports Columbus State’s expanding science and technology programs. Designed to meet rigorous academic and accessibility standards, the renewed facility creates adaptable, high-quality learning environments that support a variety of teaching methodologies and enhance the student experience.
