Renovations to help recruitment and retention

Approach

This renovation project included several spaces within Newton Hall, the home of the College of Nursing for The Ohio State University. We have been retained by the College repeatedly over the past few years to assist them with updating various student medical training labs, as well as public and support spaces throughout Newton Hall.

Projects have included an exam training lab where student volunteers are recruited to serve as patients in an open bay triage-style environment, including two instructor observation bays utilizing one-way glass for evaluation activities; a patient room training lab, including a working headwall system utilizing all compressed air for the various gases that might be found in a real patient room, a working patient room toilet / sink combination unit, and an elevated operator console and observation area for instructors to operate the MediMan separate from the students; and the renovation of the main public lobby as well as miscellaneous staff support spaces
