Approach
Part of delivering on the pressing need for attainable housing in the City of Columbus’ One Linden community plan this project is a catalyst for transformation in the neighborhood. The development of 100 affordable senior apartments and commercial space and 11 single-family homes on a three-acre site, the project anchors a new Downtown Linden at Cleveland and Myrtle avenues, providing the space to call home for an underserved population.
As one of many projects looking to restore the downtown Linden neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio, the rebuilt district will help create a place where people from other parts of the city will be drawn to. Part of the bigger master plan, the Linden project is inclusive, resident-driven, and holistic. The foundation of this project revolves around health & safety, transportation, housing, retail & small business, and education & workforce.
Matching the current neighborhood, the brick development has properties to own or rent while also supplemented by commercial and other retail shops.
This project was named the Architecture Category Winner at the 2024 Voices of Design Awards. The awards program, hosted by The Center for Architecture and Design, highlights projects that positively impact the Columbus community and make architecture and design accessible to all.
